    In a peer-reviewed, double-blind, placebo-controlled human clinical trial involving 151 participants, Xanthigen® was found to increase the daily energy expenditure rate by 400 calories and contribute to a weight loss of 6% to 7% of initial body weight when taken with a hypocaloric diet for 16 weeks. The study also reported a notable reduction in liver and adipocyte tissue fat, leading to better body composition.

    Weight Loss: Study participants lost an average of 14.2 pounds (6.6 kg) over sixteen weeks, with significant differences from the placebo group noticeable as early as six weeks.

    A Story of TWO Ingredients:

    Fucoxanthin and Brown Seaweed (Undaria pinnatifida)

    • PPAR Activation: Fucoxanthin has been shown to activate Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptors (PPARs), specifically PPARα and PPARγ. Activation of PPARα affects lipid metabolism in the liver, leading to increased β-oxidation of fatty acids, thereby reducing triglyceride levels. PPARγ activation can lead to adipocyte differentiation and changes in lipid storage, although it generally acts to store fat rather than burn it. These receptors play a role in cellular differentiation, development, and metabolism.
    • Uncoupling Protein 1 (UCP1) in BAT: Fucoxanthin may also increase the expression of UCP1 in brown adipose tissue (BAT). UCP1 uncouples oxidative phosphorylation, turning energy that would otherwise be used for ATP synthesis into heat, thereby increasing energy expenditure and facilitating fat loss. This thermogenic effect is one of the mechanisms through which BAT contributes to energy homeostasis.
    • AMPK Activation: Although not as robustly studied as other pathways, some studies suggest that fucoxanthin might also activate AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a key enzyme in regulating cellular energy homeostasis. Activation of AMPK promotes fatty acid oxidation and inhibits lipogenesis, thus favoring fat loss.

    Pomegranate Seed Oil (Punica granatum)

    • Conjugated Linolenic Acid (CLA): Pomegranate seed oil contains punicic acid, a type of CLA. CLA has been shown to modify lipid metabolism, although the precise mechanism remains uncertain. It's believed to be involved in reducing lipogenesis and increasing lipolysis.
    • Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory Activities: Pomegranate seed oil is rich in antioxidants such as anthocyanins, flavonoids, and other polyphenolic compounds.     Gamma-Butyrobetaine (GBB): 

    Gamma-Butyrobetaine (GBB) is often considered a prodrug for L-carnitine. In the body, GBB is converted into L-carnitine through the enzyme Gamma-Butyrobetaine Dioxygenase. L-carnitine is well known for its role in transporting long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria, where they can be oxidized to produce energy, a process crucial for fat metabolism.

    Research indicates that GBB has a significant impact on fatty acid oxidation and thermogenesis, lending itself as a powerful ingredient for enhancing fat loss and energy expenditure. In clinical dosages, it aids in increasing the bioavailability of L-carnitine, thereby enhancing its fat-burning capabilities even further.
